“Uunchai,” a movie by director Sooraj R. Barjatya, will begin streaming on ZEE5 on January 6, the streaming service said on Friday.

The action drama, which hit theatres on November 11, starred Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, and Parineeti Chopra.

According to Barjatya, the movie enjoyed a good run at the box office, and he is now excited to introduce “Uunchai” to ZEE5 fans.

He stated that the movie was the culmination of seven years of love, passion, and effort.

“I kindly request that all of our viewers begin the new year with this video, which is a moving tribute to friendship. In a statement, the director stated, “‘Uunchai’ is certain to make viewers laugh and weep in equal measure as well as pull at their heartstrings as it will take the viewers on a rollercoaster of emotions.

In “Uunchai,” Bachchan, Kher, and Irani play three elderly pals who plan to climb to the Everest base camp in order to fulfil their late buddy Bhupen’s request (Denzongpa).

The film’s plot is around how their journey becomes a deeply personal, profoundly emotional, and spiritual experience as they struggle with their physical limits and find freedom.

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer of ZEE5 India, expressed his excitement for the debut of “Uunchai,” which he described as one of the year’s greatest family-friendly films.

According to Kalra, “A film by Sooraj Barjatya with a never-seen-before ensemble on screen is a must-watch for people of all ages but especially the elderly as it hammers home the message of enjoying life to the fullest and what better reminder than the start of a new year to dream big and live large.”

Rajshri Productions, a company run by Barjatya’s family, is the producer of “Uunchai.”
