Director Vishal Bhardwaj will adapt Agatha Christie’s novel The Sittaform Mystery into a series for SonyLIV, marking his debut in long format storytelling. The series is titled Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley and will be produced by the filmmaker along with Priti Shahani’s Tusk Tale Films in association with Agatha Christie Limited.

Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley will be set against the backdrop of Himachal Pradesh and the titular character’s journey to solve a mystery. While Vishal will helm, co-produce and co-screen write, Anjum Rajabali and Jyotsna Hariharan will also serve as writers. The upcoming series will star Wamiqa Gabbi, Priyanshu Painyuli, Naseeruddin Shah, Neena Gupta, Ratna Pathak Shah, Gulshan Grover, Lara Dutta, Chandan Roy Sanyal, and Paoli Dam among others.

“I grew up devouring all Agatha Christie mysterious tales. Her plots, characters and setting remain unparalleled in the genre and continue to excite storytellers even today,” said Vishal who has adapted William Shakespeare’s Macbeth (Maqbool), Othello (Omkara) and Hamlet (Haider).
