Actress Shamita Shetty released the trailer for her new film The Tenant on Saturday, marking her return to Hindi films after a 14-year absence.

The Tenant portrays an independent lady living in a leased apartment in Mumbai, with Shamita playing the protagonist. She deals with judgements, catcalls, and discrimination from society since she lives alone.

Shamita’s most recent appearances were on Black Widows and Bigg Boss OTT. Her most recent movie role was in Cash (2007). Additionally, she had cameos in the films Heyy Babyy (2008) and Hari Puttar (2008).

Shamita states, “The Tenant is really significant to me in many ways,” when asked about her newest movie. It not only signifies my return to the movies, but it also tells a tale that so closely resembles an extremely pervasive and unsettling element of society. I’m pleased the narrative touches people’s hearts everywhere because the film has already won great praise at international film festivals.

Sushrut Jain is the author and director of The Tenant. The movie will hit theatres on February 10, 2023. Avatar: The Way of Water in theatres now has the movie’s teaser attached.
