The third Terrifier film is supposed to return the franchise to its origins. Following the recent success of Terrifier 2, director Damien Leone is currently preparing to make Terrifier 3. When it came out in theatres in August, the sequel, which recast David Howard Thornton as the savagely violent Art the Clown, far exceeded audience expectations. Horror aficionados also enjoyed Terrifier 2, despite the fact that many of them left the cinema puking at the film’s obscenely explicit content.

Although the release date for Terrifier 3 is still unknown, director Leone is revealing some fresh details about his ideas for the third entry in the franchise. The director said in a post on Twitter that he wanted the new picture to have a similar tone to the original short film that served as the model for the first Terrifier. Leone believes Terrifier 3 will be the scariest of them all if he can “recapture the spooky factor” that the Art the Clown character brought to the table in his first debut in shorts.

“One of my main goals for Terrifier 3 is to recapture the creep factor present in the original Terrifier short film,” Leone explains. “That had a genuinely spooky atmosphere that I’m still proud of. If all goes as planned, part 3 will be the scariest Terrifier thus far.”
