As production on the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte gets under way, the entire cast has been announced.According to a report from Variety, the series will feature Lee Jung-Jae from Squid Game, Manny Jacinto from Nine Perfect Strangers, Dafne Keen from His Dark Materials, Rebecca Henderson from Inventing Anna, Charlie Barnett from Russian Doll, Dean-Charles Chapman from 1917, and Carrie-Anne Moss from The Matrix. Dafne Keen from His Dark Materials will also appear.

“A mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era,” according to the synopsis for The Acolyte.To investigate a series of crimes, a former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they anticipated.

Leslye Headland is the creator, executive producer, and showrunner of The Acolyte.Headland will also be in charge of directing the first episode.Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef serve as executive producers, with Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson serving as producers.

Variety reported that Headland was developing a Star Wars series for Disney Plus in April 2020.It is one of several live-action Star Wars shows that can be watched on the streaming service.Andor, which is currently in its first season, and The Mandalorian, which will debut its third season in February 2023, are two other examples.Both The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi have recently premiered on Disney Plus.
