We had earlier reported the speculation about James Ponsoldt to helm the Wonder Man. However, that has subsided for now, and Stella Meghie has been set to helm Marvel Studios/Disney+ series’ episodes. The series will star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the main lead.

Written by Andrew Guest, Wonderman will have multiple episodes directed by Meghie along with Daniel Destin Cretton, and Cretton also serves as the show’s executive producer. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also executively produces the series.

Created by writer Stan Lee and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, The Wonder Man was first featured as a villain-turned-hero in 1964 on the pages of the comic book Avengers No 9. He holds various superpowers, including iconic energy manipulation, teleportation, and strength. The series will follow the adventures of Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man.

Stella Meghie’s other popular directorial credit includes The Photograph, The Weekend, Everything, Everything, and Jean of the Joneses.
