The sequel to the 2005 Tamil film “Chandramukhi,” starring superstar Rajinikanth, has begun filming with actor Kangana Ranaut.

On Tuesday night, the actor shared a photo of clapboard from the movie sets on her Instagram story.

Chandramukhi 2 filming began today, Ranaut wrote in the post.

The upcoming film is filmmaker P Vasu’s follow-up to Rajinikanth and Jyothika’s hugely successful comedy-horror film “Chandramukhi.” The next picture is also being directed by the filmmaker.

Ranaut will play a dancer in the king’s court who was renowned for her beauty and dance prowess in the second segment.

Raghava Lawrence, a Tamil actor and filmmaker, will play Ranaut’s male protagonist.

The actor’s upcoming projects include the political thriller “Emergency,” a biopic on Bengali theatrical great Binodini Dasi, and the film “Tejas,” in which she portrays an Air Force pilot.
