The first day of December 2023 will see the theatrical debut of Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film, “Sam Bahadur,” the producers revealed on Thursday.
The movie, which is made by RSVP Movies, stars Vicky Kaushal as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
On its official Twitter feed, the production company captioned the image, “365 days to go… #SamBahadur in theatres 1.12.2023.
Vicky plays Manekshaw in the introduction video, and he can be seen marching with his back to the camera while his soldiers move aside to make room for him.
The life and times of Manekshaw, one of India’s greatest combat heroes, are the basis of the film “Sam Bahadur.”
The movie began production in August and is Meghna and Vicky’s second collaboration following “Raazi” in 2018. Sanya Malhotra plays Silloo, Manekshaw’s wife, and Fatima Sana Shaikh portrays Indira Gandhi, a former prime minister.
The script for “Sam Bahadur” was written by Shantanu Srivastava, Meghna’s father Gulzar, and Bhavani Iyer.
The popular musical group Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the soundtrack for the film, with Gulzar contributing lyrics as well.
Vicky’s upcoming film, “Govinda Naam Mera,” is set to debut on Disney+ Hotstar on December 16.
