In the short film Rest Of The Night, Kirti Kulhari will appear alongside Vishwas Kini. On December 10, the movie will have its Disney+ Hotstar debut. Kirti last appeared with Angad Bedi in the dystopian short The List.
The short film, which was written and directed by Prayrit Seth, stars Kirti as a woman who is stranded in her home during the Covid-19 lockdown, struggling with loneliness and insomnia while yearning for resolution.
Under her production company, Kintsukuroi Films, Kirti has co-produced Rest Of The Night in addition to playing the lead. Cinematographer Prashant Dandekar used black-and-white film to capture the story.
Talking about the film, Kirti says, “Rest Of The Night is about being stuck mentally and emotionally. It’s about relationships and how they give us so much but also take away so much. It’s a story of a woman unable to move on and find closure. The film emphasises the need to take care of one’s mental health and how it’s important to express and share your emotions.”
Speaking about her role, she adds, “It’s a complex character and I love playing such roles.”
Kirti was recently seen in the third season of the Emmy-nominated web series Four More Shots Please! She also stars in her upcoming debut feature production, Nayeka.
