Pushkar and Gayatri’s suspenseful Tamil criminal thriller “Vadhandhi – The Fable of Velonie” is their follow-up to the success of their highly praised “Suzhal – The Vortex.” Andrew Louis is the writer of the eight-episode thriller that Pushkar and Gayatri are putting out through their Wallwatcher Films production company.

“The genre of crime is one that reveals narrative in its most unadulterated and organic state. Our goal with Vadhandhi – The Fable of Velonie is to utterly capture the audiences’ imagination and raise issues of prejudice. According to Pushkar and Gayatri, the series’ creative producers, this story will leave viewers thinking long after the credits have rolled.

They said that working with writer-director-creator Andrew Louis, with whom they had a shared vision, to make this riveting crime thriller was wonderful.

The Amazon Original series’ December 2 world debut was revealed by Prime Video on Thursday.

Following the tremendous reception to Suzhal – The Vortex, Aparna Purohit, Head of India Originals, Prime Video, stated: “We feel that Vadhandhi, our second collaboration with Pushkar and Gayatri, further improves our regional programming slate. Andrew Louis did a superb job writing and directing this thriller that is gritty, moody, and heartbreakingly beautiful.

The show goes into the world of young and attractive Velonie, portrayed by debutante Sanjana, whose life is rife with rumours, much like its title “Vadhandhi,” which translates to “rumours.” S.J. Suryah portrays a damaged but tenacious officer who becomes entangled in a web of deceit but is adamant about discovering the truth. The little town’s complicated fabric adds to the complexity and mystique of the Velonie legend. Famous actors like Laila, M. Nasser, Vivek Prasanna, Kumaran, and Smruthi Venkat play key parts in the ensemble cast of the programme.

For Prime subscribers, the eight-episode thriller will also be accessible in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
