India’s official entry for the 95th Academy Awards, “Chhello Show,” will be made available to Netflix users starting on Friday.

The English title of the Gujarati movie, “Last Film Show,” was premiered on October 14 in Indian theatres.

Pan Nalin’s semi-autobiographical coming-of-age drama follows nine-year-old Samay as he moves heaven and earth in pursuit of his 35mm dreams while being unaware of the heartbreaking moments that will soon befall him.

Nalin expressed his happiness in working with Netflix to promote the movie to a broader audience.

“‘Last Film Show’ is a celebration of movies, food, friends, and family, and viewers in India can now do just that while watching it in the comfort of their homes.

A statement from the director said, “Now, due to Netflix, ‘Last Film Show’ is just a click away. As a filmmaker, I dream that the movie reaches the maximum amount of people.

The “Chhello Show” team is overjoyed that Netflix India has become “Chhello Show’s” home, according to producer Siddharth Roy Kapur of Roy Kapur Films. On the streamer, the movie will also be available with Hindi dubbing.

As it has done for viewers in India and throughout the world who have seen the film in theatres, Kapur continued, “… we are confident that the wonder and beauty of Nalin’s cinematic creation will enrapture Netflix audiences in India.”

“I’m overjoyed that Netflix India will be carrying our movie. It will be wonderful for families to see this movie in the comfort of their own homes throughout the year-end holiday season because they have a very engaged subscriber base in India, according to producer Dheer Momaya of Jugaad Motion Pictures.

A number of prestigious film festivals around the world, including Tribeca and the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema, have nominated and screened “Chhello Show.” At the most recent Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles, it was also named best picture.

At the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, it will have a special screening.
