Nadav Lapid, an Israeli director, is said to have apologised after referring to “The Kashmir Files” as “vulgar propaganda” a few days prior. According to Nadav, “insulting people or their relatives was never my goal.”

Speaking to a news outlet, Nadav stated that he didn’t intend to offend anyone and that his goal was never to disparage those who have endured suffering or the members of their families. The director continued by expressing his sincere apologies for how his statements were taken by them. He continued by claiming that he was speaking on behalf of the entire jury. According to Nadav, his statements weren’t simply his own; they also reflected the opinions of his colleagues jurists.

Nadav had earlier stated that he stands by his comments in an interview with the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz because he “knows how to spot propaganda masquerading as a movie.”

On November 22, Nadav commented on “The Kashmir Files” during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa. Agnihotri, Vivek.

‘The Kashmir Files’ narrated the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley during the early 1990s. The film, which was released on March 11 this year, went on to do record-breaking business at the box office. The film starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi among others.
