Action drama Kantara, which is situated in coastal Karnataka, has been a financial and critical success. The movie uses mythology and tradition to emphasise difficulties with forest encroachment and tribal rights. The Tulu people’s favourite buffalo race, Kambala, and the traditional ceremonial dance, Bhoota Kola, which is performed for local deities or daivas, are both heavily featured in the movie.

Kartik, who is most known for appearing in popular commercial fodder, said to Zoom, “I would want to do rooted, grounded films.”

“I am 100 percent Indian. My entire blood line is Indian. I enjoy seeing them and would want to make them, he declared.

Kantara recently received appreciation from actor Hrithik Roshan when the Hindi version of the movie began streaming on Netflix.

I gained a lot of knowledge through watching Kantara. The film is unique because of Rishab Shetty’s conviction’s strength. Outstanding acting, directing, and narrative. I got shivers seeing the transition at its pinnacle. Respect and congratulations to the team,” tweeted Hrithik.

Kartik Aaryan was in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Freddy this year. His upcoming film is Shehzada.
