Pamela Anderson’s new documentary Pamela, a love story will include a number of topics, including her response to Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, which is centred on the consequences of the theft of her and Tommy Lee’s honeymoon film.

Ryan White of Good Night Oppy will film the Netflix documentary, which debuts on January 31 and coincides with the publication of Anderson’s HarperCollins biography Love, Pamela. It will include never-before-seen personal archive video, images, and diary entries belonging to Anderson.

Regarding her decision to complete the doc, she said to TUDUM that she had been really reluctant but now felt powerful. And I sincerely hope that [my experience] motivates others to live life to the fullest and to worry less.

The director and Anderson discussed how the film would cover a wide range of subjects related to her life, including her memoir writing process, her lead role in this year’s Broadway production of Chicago, her relationship with her children, and her romantic history, in a first look interview with Vanity Fair. Anderson’s reaction to the Hulu series, which she discovered about while the documentary was being filmed, will also be covered in the documentary.

Anderson declined to comment on the programme while it was airing but later told Vanity Fair via email that “nobody knew the truth” and that “even I don’t know exactly what happened, but I think what is most important is to share my human feelings and how much it hurt and how it undeniably defined me moving forward”

In the documentary, she will see some of her own home movies for the first time in front of the camera, as well as her early years with Lee and other collaborators like Kid Rock.

We have a tonne of footage of Tommy and Pamela dating, and White believes that our movie will truly humanise them. They are frequently viewed as these cartoonish, larger-than-life figures, in my opinion. It’s incredibly lovely to see the clip of their encounter.

White claims that the movie will cover every aspect of Anderson’s extensive romantic history, including her most recent divorce, which happened while the movie was being made. The filmmaker remarked that Pamela “wears her heart on her sleeve” in all aspects of her life, not just in her relationships. “Our movie includes all of her spouses, including the most recent one, because they are all a part of her journey. And despite the several times it hasn’t worked out for her, she still harbours unrequited desire for genuine love and looks for it everywhere.
