Anushka Sharma is all set to mark her OTT debut with ‘Chakda Xpress’, which narrates the journey of one of India’s fastest female pacers in cricket – Jhulan Goswami. After wrapping a schedule in Kolkata, the actress has not kickstarted the final leg of shoot for ‘Chakda Xpress’.

“Yes, it is true that Anushka has begun filming for Chakda Xpress’ final schedule. For the past few months, she has been filming nonstop for Chakda Xpress. As we all know that she has always strived to be a perfectionist and she has left no stones unturned for this film. Anushka spent months preparing to take on the role of the renowned fast bowler. She now has a grueling schedule in Mumbai,” revealed a source.

Speaking about shooting the film in Kolkata, Anushka had recently shared, “Kolkata has always had a very special place in my heart. The warmth of the city and the people, the delicious food, the beautiful architecture – I love everything about Kolkata and it is a pleasure to be back in the city of joy for Chakda Xpress. The last time I shot a film here was for Pari and I have several fond memories from shooting that project here. I had also shot the announcement video of Chakda Xpress at the Eden Gardens and Jhulan had dropped by for the same. It was amazing to have her on the set and interact with her.

She has such a happy disposition. So, coming back here is like life coming to a full circle for me and the team. We had a great shooting experience and made memories that will last a lifetime. Jhulan is an icon of India, as well as of West Bengal, and shooting the film in Kolkata and various parts of the state, is a fitting tribute to her legacy and her journey that started here.” Helmed by Prosit Roy, ‘Chakda Xpress’ will be released on an OTT platform.
