Circuit and Munnabhai are reuniting. On Thursday, Sanjay Dutt shared the first image from his upcoming, as-yet-untitled film opposite Arshad Warsi on Instagram. In the Rajkumar Hirani movies Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2003) and Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Sanjay and Arshad are renowned for playing the iconic roles of Murli Prasad Sharma, also known as Munna, and Sarkeshwar “Circuit” Sharma (2006).
Sanjay Dutt is the film’s producer and Sidhaant Sachdev is the director.
Sanjay posted a poster announcing the movie to Instagram “Our wait has been longer than yours, but it is now over as my brother Arshad Warsi and I team together for yet another thrilling thriller. Can’t wait to show you; be on the lookout!” Both Sanjay and Arshad are seen in the poster behind bars and wearing prison garb.
Last year, in an interview, Arshad Warsi had said that he had only accepted the role of Circuit in Munna Bhai MBBS because of Sanjay Dutt. Arshad had told Indian Express in March 2022, “I did Munna Bhai because it was Sanju (Sanjay Dutt), otherwise even Raju (filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani) knows that it is a stupid role. It really is on paper, it was nothing. Even Makarand Deshpande had said no to Circuit!”
