With the song Ghodey Pe Sawaar, Anushka Sharma made a surprise appearance in the recently released Netflix movie Qala. The performer posted a few behind-the-scenes photos on her Instagram account a few days after the movie was released.

She used a song’s phrase as the caption, writing, “Anvitaa Dutt Aap Hi Bathayein… Koi Kaise Unhone Ye Samajaye. Being a part of Qala’s journey was wonderful!”

According to Qala, speaking about her cameo in the film, Anushka said that she did the number for the fun of it and no other reason whatsoever.

“I enjoyed myself doing it! I had fun playing a yesteryears actress and I’m really happy to see the reactions from people to my special appearance. I wasn’t expecting that people would like it so much but I’m glad that they did and are happy to see me on screen after some time.”

Set in the 1930s, Qala is about the tumultuous relationship between an aspiring singer and her domineering mother. The film stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, and Babil Khan in his film debut.

On the work front, Anushka will be essaying the role of Indian pace bowler Jhulan Goswami in the upcoming film Chakda Xpress. The film is inspired by the life of one of Indian women’s cricket’s most revered cricketers.
